Your mission Material & Trim Development and Testing Develop assigned fabrics and trims in collaboration with relevant teams Support trim development and maintain seasonal trim resources Create material codes and update specifications in the material repository Monitor material quality throughout sampling and bulk production Ensure compliance with company testing standards for both fabrics and trims Approve base test reports for trims and validate RSL compliance Troubleshoot quality issues and resolve trim-related concerns Manage vendor communication to ensure timely and accurate development Innovation & Market Research Search for newness in trims and fabrics to meet brand requirements Understand brand expectations and educate suppliers accordingly Suggest new processes or changes to reduce cost and improve performance Color Development & Alignment Initiate color development and ensure alignment across suppliers and regions Handle color performance issues and resolve metamerism concerns Review lab dips and bulk colors, providing technical advice for corrections to meet standards Your talent Diploma or higher qualification in Textile, Fashion, or a related discipline 3-5 years of relevant experience in material development or sourcing Degree in Textile Engineering is preferred Prior experience working in both factory and liaison office environments is highly desirable Excellent communication skills in Bangla and English Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build effective relationships Collaborative team player with a proactive and detail-oriented approach Our principles PUMA provides equal opportunities for all job applicants, regardless of race, color, religion, national origin, sex, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, age, or disability. Specific Responsibilities Would Include Fabric/material sourcing and development Monitor and analyze industry trends and market dynamics to support the formulation of raw material sourcing and development strategies, identifying opportunities for new materials and process applications. Develop and maintain expert knowledge of material properties and innovations across different products and scenarios, providing professional input for product development decisions. Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Design, Product Development, and Manufacturing to align material strategies with company goals and ensure project success. Proactively engage with NY team to accurately understand their custom material requirements, preferences, and expectations, maintaining strong relations between NY team and suppliers. Lead and drive key customer material development projects, providing end-to-end technical guidance and project management support. Identify, evaluate, and negotiate with potential suppliers; establish and maintain strong and efficient supplier partnerships to ensure stable and cost-competitive material supply. Fabric/material production and quality management Oversee the entire bulk material production follow up, including fabric booking, bulk quality and color submissions and approval, quality inspections and delivery on time. Regularly monitor and evaluate supplier performance, quality, and compliance, driving continuous improvement. Promptly address and resolve critical issues related to material quality, and/or delivery to mitigate business risks. Others Continuously optimize material sourcing and development processes to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and strengthen supply chain resilience. Prepare regular reports on material procurement and production activities, including key performance indicators and strategic recommendations for management decision-making. Assist in supervising Centric Bangladesh materials team, providing daily guidance, coaching and support. Perform other related tasks assigned by the line manager. Our Best Fit Candidate Would Have Ability Requirements Bachelor's degree or higher in Materials Science, Textile Engineering, Chemistry, Supply Chain Management, or a related field. Minimum 10 years of experience in raw material development or sourcing, with at least 3 years in team coordination or project management. Familiarity with material properties, supply chain processes, and quality control standards; strong market insight and data analysis capabilities. Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with internal and external stakeholders. Proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Office applications. Good command of both written and spoken English. Proactive, results-oriented, and capable of handling multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
